Hey Sunshine Bakery was created in memory of my grandma, someone who was such a huge part of my life.

My grandma and I had an incredibly close relationship. She wasn’t just my grandma — she was one of my people. And for as long as I can remember, she called me “Sunshine” like it was my name. It wasn’t just a nickname she used every once in a while. To her, I was Sunshine.

She was also a baker, and so many of my memories with her are tied to food, baking, family, and the love she put into the things she made.

After losing her, I wanted to create something that kept a piece of her close to me. That’s where Hey Sunshine Bakery came from. The name is a piece of her, and every time I see it, I can almost hear her saying it.

What started in my home kitchen has grown into something I never could have imagined. Everything I make is made from scratch, with the hope that something as simple as a cookie, muffin, or sweet treat can bring a little happiness to someone’s day.

Hey Sunshine is more than a bakery to me. It’s a way for me to do something I love while carrying her with me. It’s a reminder of our relationship, the memories we shared, and a little way of keeping her sunshine going.
